Our process

How We Review APKs

Every APK on this site passes the same bench before the download button goes live. The process is deliberately boring: scan, install, poke at everything, and write down what actually happens.

We start with the file itself. The APK is scanned with multiple antivirus engines, then we verify the package name and signature against the developer release. A mismatched signature or an unexpected permission stops the publish immediately.

Then the file goes on real phones, not emulators. We install it, grant the permissions it asks for, and run through the app the way a normal user would: browse the catalog, open detail pages, toggle subtitles, and play videos on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. Anything that crashes, buffers forever, or misbehaves gets noted in the review.

Only after the file and the app both pass do we publish, with the exact version number and file size we measured. If a later build fails, the old tested build stays up until a good one clears the bench.

The review checklist

  1. Antivirus scan. The APK is checked with several engines before anything else happens.
  2. Signature check. Package name and signing certificate are compared against the developer release.
  3. Real-device install. The file is installed on physical Android phones across several OS versions.
  4. Permission audit. Every requested permission is read and justified in plain language.
  5. Hands-on run. Catalog, search, subtitles, and playback are tested on Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  6. Publish with facts. Version, size, and requirements are written from measurements, never from descriptions.
